We begin with the city of Detroit. Those who have seen the 2008 Clint Eastwood movie “Gran Torino” have an idea of what happens in the city. Large sections of this once very prosperous city are being abandoned by residents and this has led to a drastic drop in real estate prices. Hence a lot of poor immigrants from poor countries have started inhabiting these houses that are available for dead cheap, leading to a lot of gang wars.

No doubt that Baghdad is one of the most dangerous cities in the world. U.S. troops may have pulled out but the war is far from over. There is total anarchy and sporadic incidents of violence cause a lot of collateral damage and loss of life.

Chechnya often features in news stories related to war and the city of Grozny here is one of the most dangerous cities in the world. It is practically ruled by the government media and on an average, 3 murders happen here every hour – and that is just the murders.
